Microsoft has recently identified a known issue affecting Microsoft 365 users, causing classic Outlook to hang or freeze when copying text. This problem occurs on systems running Outlook Current Channel Version 2409 (Build 18025.20096) or higher, particularly when using languages with an Input Method Editor (IME).

When users select text in a classic Outlook email and attempt to copy it using the shortcut Ctrl+C, they may experience freezing or hanging. Microsoft is actively investigating this issue and has promised to provide further information on mitigation measures or fixes soon.

In the meantime, the tech giant has shared some temporary workarounds to help affected users.

Earlier this year, Microsoft also resolved a bug that caused crashes in Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote when users typed or spell-checked text. Additionally, they provided workarounds for other issues, such as Gmail sign-in problems and crashes after opening Outlook.
