The Unique Value I Can Give to The Bug Bounty World

In this current digital world, there are a lot of information, teachers, resources, and tools which will keep growing exponentially.

This information value will continue to keep dropping.

My main value to give in the bug bounty world will be actual securing of the Internet. This is the “hard route” but definitely possible now with an ever-growing attack surface. Also there are success examples to look up to. Not too early but not too late, overall pretty good timing.

My opinion, technical teachings can only take one so far in bug bounties. Don’t get me wrong, technical resources are very helpful.

But especially with bug bounties, the “motivation” is the harder part and one needs uniqueness to compete. For me personally, I have top hackers to look up to, which helps me to keep going even when I feel despair of not finding anything valid.

Other values to give in the future

I would like to write technical posts that aren’t really out there but probably won’t be main focus for me.

New research would be really cool but that would definitely take a lot of time investment, but could lead to more potential bounties with research submission programs on bug bounty platforms.

On Medium, I would like to give a different perspective from other bug hunters. Most hunters share the process of finding the bug or technical details. Me, maybe more self-help area. Not gonna go overboard but the core strategy to actually find security bugs.

I do have an artistic side so some art creation too but not going to be main work for me. But quality art can give one motivation to keep going even when times are rough. Really good music has helped me to get up when I just felt like I couldn’t. Also entertainment with value can be useful too (most entertainment are pretty random though…).

Why am I writing out all this, won’t I be scared of being copied?

No. People can read all they want but the DOING part takes a lot of practice and experience.

My unique value is giving realistic motivation to keep going even when hard, because I do know how hard continuing bug bounties is.
