It’s been almost 6 months since I created my first medium story and now I’ll be making my second one. This story will be about my cybersecurity progress for the past months since I created my first story.

This month is where I got accepted at Synack as a Synack Red Team and also the month when I was able to get my first bounty. Yup you read that right, I was able to get my first bounty and the amount is 205 USD. The bug was a CSRF wherein I could change the username of anyone even though the application is asking for a password first before you can change the username. I also wanted to add that I also created a Youtube channel on May, to create a vlog about my cybersecurity progress as well. Although I created the channel on the month of May, I started uploading videos on June so I decided to put it here on the month of June.

Although the channel name is h3xvideos, it was originally named as AceMalware, I decided to change the name because I don’t want people to think that I only upload Malware videos and stuff.

July was the best month for my cybersecurity journey since I set a goal on March. I was able to get 5 bounties for this month, you can check my Youtube channel for it and I was able to get around 2600USD. I wasn’t able to upload my 6th bounty, which I received 800USD for an IDOR vulnerability, because I was planning to upload it if I will be able to get my 7th bounty but I wasn’t able to do so because since the month of July, I wasn’t able to get a bounty. If you’re going to ask what I did with the bounty I earned, I went to buy the eLearnSecurity Malware Analyst Professional course, extend my eLearnSecurity Exploit Development, and also bought the eLearnSecurity Mobile Application Security and Penetration Testing.

Here are the list of the course that I am currently enrolled at ELS

There is not much of a progress this month but I would say that I’ve been focusing on Studying Malware Analyst and Exploit Development this month and I also started doing CTF in order to practice Reverse Engineering and Exploit Development and so far I still suck at playing CTF but I’ve been enjoying CTF right now more than I enjoy doing bug bounties so far. I’ve also started uploading CTF videos, mostly a video writeup about how I was able to solve a challenge. Me and my friends, who happens to be a newbie also in this field, decided to create a CTF team for us to learn, hopefully we’ll be able to learn much before this year ends.
