Barracuda Networks acquires SKOUT Cybersecurity
Application, cloud, email, data and network security solutions provider Barracuda Networks is acquiring SKOUT Cybersecurity, a company that provides cyber-as-a-service software for MSPs, as well as XDR solutions. The deal enables Barracuda to expand its portfolio with an XDR platform.
Cybersecurity services firm BlueVoyant announced buying Marclay Associates, a UK-based cybersecurity consultancy that specializes in incident response and cyber investigation services. The goal is to expand BlueVoyant’s managed and consulting service capabilities in the UK. The company will also receive $30 million in funding from existing investors to help its growth.
CELESTE acquires Oceanet-Technology
France-based fiber optic solutions provider CELESTE announced the acquisition of Oceanet-Technology, which specializes in creating, managing and securing cloud architectures. CELESTE’s goal is to strengthen its cloud expertise and infrastructure, as well as “its culture of security.”
Client Solution Architects acquires Capstone
Client Solution Architects (CSA), a management and technology solutions provider for the US government, acquired government solutions and services provider Capstone. CSA says the acquisition will help it improve in several areas, including cybersecurity.
Exclusive Networks acquires Ignition Technology
Exclusive Networks, a France-based company that provides cybersecurity solutions from various vendors, acquired Ignition Technology, a UK-based distributor of security-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions. Ignition, which covers the UK and Northern Europe, specializes in early-stage, disruptive cybersecurity vendors.
HPE is acquiring cloud data management and protection provider Zerto for $374 million in cash. The acquisition should help HPE expand its GreenLake cloud data services and move HPE Storage closer to becoming a cloud-native, software-defined data services business.
Imprivata acquires whiteCryption
Imprivata, which has developed a digital identity framework for healthcare organizations, has acquired Xton Technologies, a company that provides privileged access management (PAM) solutions. Imprivata plans on integrating Xton’s PAM technology into its identity and access management (IAM) platform.
MOQ acquires Dienst Consulting
MOQ acquired Dienst Consulting for AUD 3.78 million (USD 2.8 million). Both companies are based in Australia and they provide IT services. MOQ said the acquisition will enable it to expand its presence in Western Australia and help it extend its digital and cybersecurity services focus in the region.
Pixel Holdco, the parent company of UK-based IT services firm Perfect Image, announced buying Northern Ireland-based cybersecurity firm Cyphra. As a result of the deal, Cyphra's cybersecurity solutions and services will be combined with Perfect Image's cloud infrastructure, managed services and data analytics solutions. Cyphra will continue to operate under its own brand.
British anti-malware powerhouse Sophos has acquired Capsule8 to beef up the Linux protection capabilities to its endpoint detection and response product stack. For Sophos, the Capsule8 technology adds runtime visibility, detection and response for Linux production servers and containers covering both on-premises and cloud workloads.
Swiss Post acquires majority stake in Tresorit
Swiss Post, the national postal service of Switzerland, has acquired a majority stake in secure file sharing company Tresorit. Swiss Post said the deal allows it to expand its digital infrastructure and secure data transfer offerings.
View, Inc., a company that offers smart building platforms and smart windows, acquired IoTium, which provides secure, cloud-managed, software-defined IoT networks. IoTium’s technology will make it easier to securely deploy smart building applications through View’s platform. According to View, “It is the most reliable, easiest-to-deploy and most economical solution to implement enterprise-grade security and a converged edge infrastructure in buildings.”
Threat intelligence and protection company ZeroFox acquired Vigilante, a firm specializing in dark web threat intelligence. By joining forces with Vigilante, ZeroFox improves its dark web threat intelligence capabilities.
Zimperium acquires whiteCryption
Mobile security company Zimperium acquired whiteCryption, a firm that provides application security, content protection, data management and device security products. Zimperium will integrate whiteCryption’s solutions into its Mobile Application Protection Suite, but it will also continue to support current whiteCryption customers.

Container security company Aqua Security has acquired tfsec, an open source security scanner for Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The scanner will be integrated into Aqua’s Trivy product to add IaC security scanning capabilities, but it will also remain a standalone project that will be added to Aqua’s suite of open source tools. Tfsec's co-founders will join Aqua as cloud engineers following the acquisition.
ASGN Incorporated acquires IndraSoft
ASGN Incorporated, a provider of IT services and professional solutions, announced buying IndraSoft Inc., which provides cybersecurity and digital transformation solutions to the U.S. government. The goal of the acquisition is to expand ASGN’s customer base and relationships with government agencies. IndraSoft’s 220 consultants will join ASGN’s ECS Missions Solutions business unit.
Avantus Federal acquires Occam’s Razor Technologies
NewSpring Holdings-owned Avantus Federal (formerly E3/Sentinel), which provides mission-focused services and solutions to the U.S. government, acquired Occam’s Razor Technologies, which specializes in computer network exploitation, cyber research and development, and acquisitions (hardware, software and exploits). The acquisition will help Avantus Federal expand its capabilities.
Enea acquires AdaptiveMobile Security
Sweden-based Enea, a company that provides software components for telecommunications and cybersecurity, is acquiring Ireland-based AdaptiveMobile Security, which specializes in securing mobile networks and messaging services, for roughly €45 million ($53 million). AdaptiveMobile Security will continue to operate under its own brand and will become a new business unit within Enea.
ID Technologies acquires Attila Security
Government IT solutions provider ID Technologies has purchased Attila Security, which develops data security products for government and private sector organizations. Attila will be integrated into ID Technologies’ Archon secure solutions division in an effort to add product IP, technical capabilities, new customers, and greater sales capacity.
Intrepid acquires Darkblade Systems
Intrepid, which provides cybersecurity, intelligence and data analysis solutions to U.S. intelligence agencies, has acquired intelligence solutions company Darkblade Systems. As a result of the deal, Intrepid’s size will nearly double, and Darkblade will help the company expand its cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and counter-UAS [unmanned aircraft systems] capabilities.
Nexon Asia-Pacific acquires Computer Systems Australia
Australia-based cloud and managed services provider Nexon Asia Pacific acquired tech services company Computer Systems Australia (CSA). Nexon said the acquisition will accelerate its strategic growth objectives and strengthen its cloud, network and cyber capabilities.
OPSWAT acquires Bayshore Networks
OPSWAT, which specializes in cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure, announced the acquisition of industrial cybersecurity company Bayshore Networks. OPSWAT has acquired all assets of Bayshore Networks to expand its critical infrastructure protection capabilities to OT environments. Bayshore’s products and employees will become part of OPSWAT.
Sweden-based cybersecurity assessment company Outpost24 acquired Spain-based threat intelligence firm Blueliv. Outpost24 said the acquisition will enable it to offer an advanced threat landscape monitoring solution that can help organizations reduce risk exposure.
Patria Investments acquires NeoSecure
Patria Investments, a Latin American alternative asset manager, acquired cybersecurity firm NeoSecure from asset management firm The Rohatyn Group. NeoSecure has operations in Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
Thrive acquires S7 Technology Group
Managed services and cybersecurity provider Thrive acquired S7 Technology Group, which offers tech solutions for the financial services industry. Thrive said S7 customers will gain access to its cybersecurity, Microsoft digital transformation, and hybrid cloud offerings as a result of the acquisition.

BEK Communications Cooperative acquires CyberNet Security
Communications services company BEK Communications Cooperative acquired cybersecurity firm CyberNet Security in an effort to expand its offerings. Both firms are based in North Dakota. CyberNet Security’s founder and CEO will continue to lead the cybersecurity business, and has also been named CSO of BEK.
Unified configuration management platform provider CloudTruth announced buying cloud secrets management startup Tuono. CloudTruth announced the acquisition alongside a $5.25 million seed funding round.
Prevention, detection, and response solutions provider Cybereason acquired empow, an Israel-based security analytics firm. Cybereason, which recently raised another $275 million, said it acquired empow for its prediction technology, which will help it enhance its XDR offerings.
Dataprise acquires Wireless Watchdogs
MSP Dataprise announced the acquisition of mobility managed services provider Wireless Watchdogs in an effort to expand its portfolio. Both companies said their cybersecurity offerings — among others — will improve as a result of the acquisition.
Deloitte acquires Sentek Global and TransientX
Professional services giant Deloitte on the same day announced the acquisitions of Sentek Global, a systems engineering and cybersecurity firm that mainly serves the US Navy, and TransientX, which specializes in zero trust network access solutions. The goal of both acquisitions is to help Deloitte expand its offerings and solutions.
EY Australia acquires SecureWorx
Ernst & Young, Australia (EY Australia) is acquiring SecureWorx in an effort to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities. EY Australia says SecureWorx complements and extends its existing capabilities. SecureWorx’s CEO will join EY as Sovereign Cybersecurity Leader.
Onegini announced merging with iWelcome into a new company named OneWelcome. Both firms are based in the Netherlands and they both provide consumer identity and access management (CIAM) solutions. OneWelcome will serve more than 100 enterprises across Europe.
Enterprise IT solutions and management consulting services provider Planned Systems International (PSI) is buying IT solutions provider ProSphere Tek. PSI says the acquisition adds “critical capabilities in cyber security and health IT operations.”
Cybersecurity firm Rapid7 announced the acquisition of threat intelligence startup Intsights for $335 million. Rapid7 plans to leverage Intsights’ technology to improve its InsightIDR extended detection and response (XDR) offering.
UK-based cybersecurity firm Sophos has acquired US-based cybersecurity provider Braintrace. Sophos said its goal is to use Baintrace’s network detection and response technology to enhance its managed threat response (MTR), rapid response, and XDR offerings. Braintrace’s developers, data scientists and security analysts have joined Sophos’ global MTR and rapid response teams.
Sysdig, a company that provides security for containers, Kubernetes and cloud services, acquired Apolicy in an effort to expand its offering with infrastructure as code (IaC) security. Apolicy employees will join Sysdig and Apolicy’s product offering will be incorporated into the Sysdig Secure DevOps Platform.
Telefónica Tech acquires Cancom UK&I
Spain-based cybersecurity, cloud, IoT, big data and blockchain solutions provider Telefónica Tech acquired UK-based IT services provider Cancom UK&I for €398 million ($470 million). Telefonica Tech says the acquisition will help it strengthen its cloud and cybersecurity capabilities in the UK and Ireland.
