This is the first question that will be asked in every interview. Here, don’t waste the recruiter’s time. Provide precise and clear information about yourself to attract the interviewer. I will show how I introduce myself. Explain your self-introduction in this manner: your name and designation, academic excellence, working experience, certifications, achievements, hobbies, skills
“I am Akash, a Cybersecurity researcher and a Digital Forensic Analyst. Speaking about my academic excellence, I completed my bachelor’s in computer science engineering with specialization in cybersecurity and now graduated with a master’s in digital forensics investigation from Staffordshire University, UK. Speaking about my working experience/project, I completed my 2-month internship in Chennai as a VAPT trainee (Explain what you learned there). Speaking about my certifications, I am a certified ethical hacker from EC-Council, and XRY Certified from MSAB and completed several certifications on Udemy related to cyber domains and pentesting, and Level 2 Fitness coach Personal Trainer. Speaking about my achievements, I have received the Hall of Fame from a top MNC for securing their web application security and have conducted many seminars and webinars to faculty and the infosec community all over the world. Speaking about my hobbies, I used to create blogs and memes related to cybersecurity to educate the infosec community. Finally, regarding my skills (give examples), I am good at communication since I do public speaking by delivering talks to infosec people, And since I hit the gym, I believe I am a disciplined guy, where I can complete all the tasks before the deadline. Simple yet effective ✌️
We all know, the primary goal is money but, you should say that in the interview, you should be a little bit dramatic here like this 😜
“To be honest, I am very passionate about the cybersecurity domain. Back in 2018, I started my cybersecurity journey as a beginner. Throughout this year, I’ve learned a lot about growing in information security, and it has made me approach all decisions in my life with an out-of-the-box perspective. The really interesting thing about cybersecurity is its daily learning process. As we can see, every day brings new CVEs, and new flaws are discovered. On one side, you can observe how people try to solve or patch these specific flaws with their brilliant skills. Overall, it’s an everyday challenging process, and I love challenges. This passion has led me to pursue cybersecurity and simultaneously apply for roles in this field.”
Here give answers with your real-time life experience. Give your genuine answers here.
One of the key skills and strengths that I have developed over the years is my communication and public speaking skills. Since 2018, I have conducted many webinars and seminars for faculty members of my college and infosec community all over the world, which made me realize that I possess this specific skill. and the second one I could say is my discipline with me, since I hit the gym 5days per week, I believe I am a disciplined guy, where I can complete all the tasks before the deadline.
Same as Strength, but here say this is my weakness after saying immediately say, ‘I am trying to improve it’ using a story like me
Generally speaking about my weakness, I prefer working alone rather than in a group. The reason for saying this is that back in 2020, during a CTF competition 10 IPs were given, and my team consisted of 3 people. My team member assigned me to complete a specific box related to privilege escalation. Since I was not interested in that, I started to root the OSINT and network analysis machine, and within 1 hour, I was able to root 2 boxes. This made me believe that I am not a person with teamwork skills but can complete all my work alone. I know this won’t be good for an organization. To improve that, I got a YouTube channel and educating people with my videos, and using that, I am trying to network with people and collaborate with them so that I can improve my teamwork skills.
If you are a fresher, don’t immediately demand specific pay, give a pay range, and follow what I used to say.
“Well, before discussing our package question, can you just tell me about this role? Like, what will be my work there?
“(After the Interviewer answers): Well, that is perfect. I know I am a fresher, so my primary intentions will be to learn and network with people in the organization so that I can gain more experience and knowledge in my cyber domain. Yet, I believe with the skills I possess, I can expect a pay range between £28,000–£29,000 per annum.” as a fresher
Since I live in the UK, I can able to commute anywhere, but if you don’t wanna relocate, say the honest reason why you can’t relocate, just follow my examples below.
“Yes, I live an independent life here in the UK, and yes, there is no objection to relocating. I can relocate to any place you need.”
(If No): Well, I am afraid I won’t be able to commute since I need to take care of Mom and dad, as they need medication support every time. So, I can’t be able to commute. I am sorry about that too.
