Hats Finance 2022 Recap

2022 was an incredible year for Hats Finance! Despite the wild ride, we are thankful for every single person that contributed to our success.

This year alone, we witnessed the loss of over $3.4 B in losses and two large ecosystem collapses. Despite the difficult market conditions, we have remained focused on our mission of improving web3 security and building confidence among users, developers, and security researchers. As one of the leading bug bounty protocols in the space, we have seen firsthand the importance of robust security measures in driving mass adoption.

Overall, it’s been a year of innovation, resilience, and achievement for Hats Finance, and we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries in the coming year. As 2023 begins, let’s celebrate some of our accomplishments with a 2022 recap.

A Year of Security Innovation

This year has been a harsh reminder of the importance of security in the crypto ecosystem, with several hacks causing major losses and raising concerns about current practices. These events have spurred many projects to prioritize security measures such as regular audits, bug bounties, and threat detection systems. We have also seen an increased interest among developers in learning web3 security, with more participation in bootcamps, hands-on learning opportunities, and CTFs.

While 2022 has been a significant year for web3 security, we believe that 2023 can be the year when security becomes standard practice, rather than an optional extra. As a community, we must work towards making security a top priority in order to build trust and foster mass adoption of web3 technologies.

17+ Projects Onboarded

We are grateful to all the projects that have placed their trust in our vision and have chosen to use our bug bounty platform. We had the pleasure of working with several projects to help them strengthen their security and connect them with top talent in the industry. One of the highlights for us was being able to assist one project with on-chain vulnerability disclosure and support two other projects following a hack.

We are excited to share upcoming projects about joining our platform, as well as new partnerships and products that will help our clients maximize their security. We believe that by working together, we can create a more secure and confident web3 ecosystem for everyone.

NFT Powered Security

In the early part of 2022, we were thrilled to debut our first NFT collection, “The Crow Clan,” which was a great success and brought our community together. Later in the year, we launched a second collection, “The Hats Embassy Collection,” which will play a key role in our TGE and community involvement in the Hats DAO. A Year of Community

Last year, we made an effort to grow and engage our community, with a focus on security researchers. We hosted CTF challenges, audit competitions, and short-term bug bounties, and have seen significant growth in our developer community. Many have highlighted our platform on platforms like Twitter and Medium. In addition to these initiatives, we’ve also launched educational efforts like our web3 security podcast, project spotlight AMAs, and NTF challenges to help educate crypto users about the importance of security and the utility of bug bounties. These efforts have helped us attract new users who are eager to learn more about web3 security. Overall, it’s been a great year for community building and engagement at Hats Finance.

New Year, New Opportunities

2022 was a wild ride, from seeing groundbreaking ecosystem milestones to witnessing one of the hardest times in web3 history. Despite it all, we are grateful for everything that this year has brought us and are proud of the achievements we’ve made. Above all, we are thankful for our supportive community and dedicated team who have been with us every step of the way.

Looking ahead, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the coming year. Some of the things you can expect from us include the launch of Hats V2, various community-focused initiatives, new partnerships, and more bug bounties. We can’t wait to share all that we have in store with you.
