How to get shodan membership upgrade for free

What is shodan?
Shodan is a search engine for Internet-connected devices. It allows you to search for certain ports for example you want to find open ports for mysql you can search for: port 3306. This gives me right now a result of 765 ports.

Doing this I found a php.ini file exposed in one of the IP-adresses i checked from the search results. This is already in itself a valid bug as you can see in this report from hackerone.

Prerequisites
In order to be eligible for the upgrade you need to be a student or professor at a university. And you need an account at shodan.io You can register for an account here: https://account.shodan.io/register
