Immunefi Launches Whitehat Scholarship

Immunefi is launching the Whitehat Scholarship to give promising smart contract hackers the opportunity to level up their skills and focus full-time on bug hunting, so they can help keep DeFi safe.

DeFi is exploding in growth, but there aren’t enough Solidity developers or whitehat hackers to go around. From a development perspective, the DeFi ecosystem is being held back from its true potential, and from a security perspective, devastating hacks keep obliterating projects.

The smart contract talent just does not exist to allow DeFi to safely scale.

We believe that it’s important for the DeFi community to contribute to the public good of upskilling smart contract whitehat hacking talent.

That’s why we’re offering the community-driven Whitehat Scholarship to proven smart contract hackers.

For the first cohort, we’re opening a public application for any smart contract hacker to apply for the scholarship. Based on the applications, Immunefi will pick up to 5 hackers for the first cohort, which will be awarded three months of salary covered by the scholarship to come hunt for bugs full-time.

For any bug bounties awarded to these hunters during that time, 30% of the rewards will be pledged to go back into the scholarship treasury, so that we can give other budding whitehats the same opportunity.

To apply, the only thing you need to do is hit the button on the Immunefi site and fill out the application form. We’ll review applications as they come in, and the winners of the scholarship will be announced on the 12th of May 2021.
