BOOK THIS SPACE FOR AD
ARTICLE ADHey everyone, welcome back! Today, I’m excited to share a story that’s all about luck — how a fortunate twist led me to the United Nations Hall of Fame (HOF). This story dates back to when I was just starting out in the cybersecurity domain.
Back then, I was constantly learning — reading articles, blogs, and watching videos to understand the field better. One day, I stumbled upon a post where someone shared their experience of getting listed in the UN’s Hall of Fame for discovering a vulnerability. Curious and intrigued, I wondered, “What is this UN program, and do they really give out HOF recognitions?”
Driven by curiosity, I decided to look into it myself. The very next day, I visited their page:
I began exploring their subdomains and domains, searching for any vulnerabilities or misconfigurations. As I was casually browsing through different sites under their domain, I unexpectedly clicked on a link that redirected me to a gambling site.
At first, I thought it was a mistake on my part. However, after double-checking, I realized the link was indeed misdirecting due to an embedded link on the site. Recognizing the potential security risk, I reported it, thinking it might be a minor issue but still worth mentioning.
To my surprise, not only did they acknowledge my report, but they also listed me on their Hall of Fame page! It was an incredible moment, and I couldn’t believe that such a small discovery led to such significant recognition.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading it.
I hope you like it! :)
Thank you!
