This week, Twitter and OnlyFans have suspended user accounts that illicitly leaked a BSDM video featuring a New York City council candidate.

The video of 26-year old Zack Weiner began circulating on Twitter and OnlyFans via accounts with identical usernames and profile pictures.

The leak comes just a week before New Yorkers will be voting next week for City Council, mayoral, and other local office candidates.

Allegedly leaked by a dominatrix

Twitter and OnlyFans have banned accounts responsible for leaking a BDSM video of an Upper West Side city council candidate.

The sadomasochistic video shows Zack Weiner, a 6th district New York City Council candidate, bound and restrained in the company of a female dominatrix.

The timing of this leak is interesting—just a week before local elections are to take place in New York City.

Twitter and OnlyFans both responded to this incident by suspending the user account where the video stemmed from. Both platforms considered this to be a violation of their policies.

Motherboard, who first reported on the social media bans, says the suspended user claims they obtained the video from a dominatrix friend.

Interestingly, Twitter cited a violation of its spam and platform manipulation policy as the reason for the account's suspension rather than something like non-consensual nudity policy.

A dominatrix known as Mistress Harley says that it isn't unusual for customers to request being filmed but that such videos are meant to be kept tightly private.

"I suspect that the dominatrix in question is probably new to the business and does not have a lawyer that would have advised her against this course of action," surmised Harley.

Weiner: "I am not ashamed"

On Twitter this week, Weiner confirmed that he is the man in the leaked video and released a statement.

Of course, like anyone else, the 26-year old didn't want his privacy violated and wouldn't have wanted anyone to watch the video.

But, Weiner firmly stated he is not ashamed of the video, and that it was a recreational activity he voluntarily participated in:

"Like many young people, I have grown into a world where some of our most private moments have been documented online," says Weiner.

"While a few loud voices on Twitter might chastise me for the video, most people see the video for what it is: a distraction."

With that, the candidate expressed faith in voters to cast their ballots next week for candidates based on their policies and the ability to serve the community.

Many have praised Weiner's response on Twitter, who was victim of what some may call, "revenge porn."

This has to be the most level-headed response to being the victim of a crime I've ever seen. Kudos to you for being honest about it and not being ashamed for engaging in consensual sex. I've also heard you refuse to release her name, and that's excellent. Good on you.

Another Twitter user joined in Weiner's support stating:

"He’s owning it! They wanted to shame him but they just made themselves look bad. I don’t even know who this guy is or what video he’s talking about, but good for him."

A third user tweeted, that they preferred their politicians dominated by dominatrices rather than corporations.

Social media platforms continue battling cases of revenge porn involving videos and photos of victims leaked without consent.

Suffice to say, when getting filmed in a BDSM film, should it be your thing, make sure no one else has a copy but you.
