Upgrading to the latest Samsung phone just got easier (and cheaper) - here's why and how to qualify

This week at Samsung Unpacked in San Jose, California, the technology giant unveiled its latest lineup of Samsung Galaxy smartphones -- including the Samsung Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While it's easy for us to anticipate the usual new models from most major manufacturers each year, Samsung also launched an exclusive program we weren't expecting.

Loyal Samsung customers who like to upgrade to the latest and greatest model each year can now do so with what's called the "New Galaxy Club." The New Galaxy Club is Samsung's first wade into an early upgrade program and functions similarly to other upgrade programs like Apple's iPhone upgrade program and retailer-exclusive upgrade programs like AT&T's Next Up Anytime. 

Customers can enroll in the New Galaxy Club for $8.33/month for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25+ models, or $6.20/month for the Galaxy S25. You're essentially leasing the phones, with the intention to upgrade to the next new model after a year. The requirement is for you to use the device for at least 12 months. Then, when the next Unpacked event comes along, Samsung will pay off your remaining installments or offer a 50% MSRP trade-in credit toward your next upgrade.

It helps that New Galaxy Club members will also receive one year of Samsung Care+ (without Theft and Loss) benefits for free, which is perhaps one of the sweeter deals on an early upgrade program we've seen so far this year. It doesn't match Apple's extensive insurance commitment when you buy into the iPhone Upgrade Program, but that also goes for about $30 per month, so the price difference is significant. 

Regardless, there's now a cheaper way for you to experience the latest Galaxy phones without stressing about accidental damage.
